Kendriya
Vidyalaya Happy Valley, under
the umbrella of Kendriya Vidyalaya
Sangathan, an autonomous body
under the ministry of HRD opened
its innings in the monsoon splendour
of 1976 on 15th August. Today
it stands fresh, vital and rejuvenated
with the tremendous support
and faith from parents, teachers
and students. We are proud to
say that we have completed 34
years of useful, glorious and
dedicated service to the children
and community at large.
The Vidyalaya was declared Model
School on 27th Dec 2002 it added
feather to its cap in 2003 when
it was included in the Smart
School list under the Smart
School Project Scheme.
At present the Vidyalaya has
the strength of 1366 students
against the staff strength of
53. The Vidyalaya has three academic
streams - Science, Humanities
and Commerce at plus two stages. To provide
the children a wider spectrum
of the present high-tech society
the provision of 'Informatics
Practices' and 'Computer Science' based on Computer
Technology is also included
in the school curriculum. Computer
Literacy programme has been
introduced from class I onwards.
Keeping with the new policy
of KVS, which puts stress on
the learning process and is
thus student oriented, the Vidyalaya
is going all out to provide
the facilities that would ensure
the all-round personality development
of the learners. That the Vidyalaya
has been able to live up to
its tasks can be clearly seen
from the report of its achievements.
Aims of the Vidyalaya

Apart from learning academic skills and excellence, the aim of the Vidyalaya is to develop bilingual competence amongst its student.

To provide ample of opportunities to the students for their overall development by participating in games and sports, adventure activities, co-curricular activities, scout and guide activities, exhibitions and different competitions at different level.

Promotion of Scout & Guide Movement.

Promotion of Computer literacy among teachers and students.
-
Celebration of Important Days & Jayanties.

To develop perfect global citizens with positive frame of mind and willing to face the challenges of upcoming world.
Vision and Mission
 
The Kendriya Vidyalayas have a four - fold mission:
1. To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government including Defense and Para-military personnel by providing a common programme of education.
2. To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education.
3. To initiate and promote experimentation and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) etc.
4. To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of "Indian-ness" among children.
